SOCIAL ENTERPRISE

Institut Guttmann Foundation

Fundació Institut guttmann - RSC

The Institut Guttmann Foundation is a private, non-profit, non-denominational entity of social initiative, promoted by Catalan civil society, and an effective example of public-private cooperation. It is registered under number 189 in the Registry of Private Foundations of the Departament de Justícia de la Generalitat de Catalunya. Classified as a welfare type charity since 1965, it is included among the beneficiaries of patronage in accordance with Law 49/2002, of 23 December, “on the tax regime of non-profit organisations and tax incentives for patronage”. Since its constitution in 1962, the Social Statutes have set out the objectives and operation of the Foundation.

NEW STRATEGIC PLAN 2020-2025

One of the most significant milestones for the institution during 2019 has been the approval by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees of the new Strategic Plan 2020-2025 which, based on the foundation’s good trajectory over the last few years, proposes an ambitious programme of continuity but with a more open outlook towards new lines of activities and services that the organisation needs to promote for greater future sustainability. These are based on research, innovation and a new way of understanding neurorehabilitation and the promotion of brain health based on more advanced, technological, cutting-edge, collaborative and community-integrated rehabilitation centres.

As a result of the new Strategic Plan 2020-2025, we have proceeded to review the institutional mission, vision and values and we have found that they are fully valid with some small variations that will allow us to grow in our foundational objectives to adapt to what people with disabilities, their families and society in general need and demand from us. That’s why it is called “Strategic Plan 2020-2025: for a larger organization, with new services and more committed to people”.

The new plan sets the course to continue growing as an organization of assistance and knowledge, while strengthening our commitment to service to people and country, adapting to the new social reality we live.

“The Institut Guttmann is a non-profit organization, and its main objective is to promote, encourage and ensure full rehabilitation of people affected by spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury or other neurological disabilities, to develop research and teaching in the field of neuroscience, and to give them support and more convenient services to achieve a satisfactory social reintegration while contributing to the full recognition of their rights and effective equalising of opportunities.”
