
The Institut Guttmann has made an effort this year 2019 to improve communication and the way in which the institution relates to its interest groups, placing special emphasis on the relationship of the Institut Guttmann towards the community with all communication activities, events and projects of a social nature that are carried out, increasing the demands for assessment with respect to the previous year in order to strengthen dialogue with all the participants.
In 2019 the Institut Guttmann has worked systematically with evaluation surveys with quantitative and qualitative fields, which allow the open and free expression of all. These evaluations are offered in the different initiatives and are collected to analyse the results and establish a plan for improvement.
It is important for the Institut Guttmann to know first-hand the opinions and needs, the subjects exposed, by the participants in the activities, conferences and programs that it proposes, at the same time as a great help to advance in our continuous improvement.

Personal data and treatment of confidentiality
Compliance with data protection regulations is an aspect of great importance for the institution in all its areas. This is a duty of all the professionals and collaborators who form part of the Institut Guttmann and who may have knowledge – either directly or indirectly – of the data of patients, members of the organisation and other persons with whom it is related.
– The Institut Guttmann strictly monitors the authorization of the use of images of patients and/or family members to the media, by signing the informed consent of the patient himself or her legal guardian.
– The sending of mailings or newsletters online complies with the new European regulations, having the relevant authorization of the recipients.
– The Institut Guttmann Foundation does not carry out any advertising or communication that could be considered commercial, towards the care services offered by the Neurorehabilitation Hospital. – During the financial year 2019, no incident has been received related to communication, marketing, promotion or sponsorship of the institution, as well as no formal complaint regarding the breach of confidentiality of personal data, nor any sanction as a result of regulatory breaches in relation to care, scientific or teaching services.
The team of professionals, on initiating their contractual relationship with the Institut Guttmann, sign the acceptance of the Code of Ethics, and are informed of the “Protocol of good practices for professionals and collaborators for the protection and security of personal data”.
The Institut Guttmann implements, to all the information it deals with, security measures of the highest level provided for in the data protection regulations in force.

The data management system of the Institut Guttmann is attached to the Code of Conduct of the Unió Catalana d’Hospitals and is periodically subject to legal compliance audits carried out by an external entity.
