Throughout its history, the Fundació Institut Guttmann has been characterised by a high degree of social commitment and by working hand in hand with associations representing people with disabilities. For this reason, the Institut Guttmann has a Social and Participation Council, among its governing bodies of a consultative nature, and the president of which is a member of the institution’s Board of Trustees, to encourage the participation and co-responsibility of all the actors involved in the development and objectives of the Foundation’s activities.

During 2020 we continued working with the main associations for people with disabilities, very specifically in getting the PARTICIPA project off the ground and developing it. On 26 February the first meeting of the Advisory Group of this social research project was held at Guttmann Barcelona. This was attended by most of the associations that are members of the Social Council of the Institut Guttmann. This was the starting point for the different actions that would be launched throughout the year.

Additionally, we have also collaborated with them by making the Open GNPT programmes and the Covid section available to their users and associates on the SiiDON platform, with tools, advice and health information specifically aimed at people with disabilities and their families.
